Murder

Today I learned that a young man stabbed 2 babies, a female worker, and 12 others at the Belgian Day Care Center. The babies and female worker were dead and the 12 were injured. The murderer hasn't been caught but is described as a 20 year old man.

When spectators were leaving a high school basketball game, five people get shot. They were males and 3 were in serious condition and 2 were in critical condition. There are no suspects identified and arrested.

Fatal police shooting sparks violent protests

Police forces an unarmed black man to the ground. A police officer gets his gun and shoots the man. This is the New Year's Day death of 22 year old Oscar Grant. The officer is not in jail and was not charged for doing anything wrong. Hundreds of people are protesting that the police officer should be charged and jailed.

Black Holes

I learned that blackholes formed before galaxies. The new research presented today at the American Astronomical Society is preliminary. The new research is about 4 black holes that existed 1 to 2 billion years after the Big Bang. The mass of the black holes and galaxies were about the same. Astronomers used radio waves to look back to 1 to 2 billion years after the Big Bang. They found the four black holes and learned that it did form before the galaxies.

Today I learned that the Milky Way was larger than and spins faster than astronomers once thought. Scientists mapped the Milky Way in more detail. The findings were found today. The Milky Way was 5 foot 5 and 140 pounds. Now it is 6 foot 3 and 210 pounds.
